Bandung—The Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD) at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) fosters the spirit of higher education among high school students and equivalents. Through school visit programs, students and teachers become more familiar with ITB and its faculties/schools, one of which is FTMD.

On January 10, 2024, FTMD welcomed a visit from MAN Insan Cindekia, followed by a visit from SMA Sekolah Alam Cikeas on January 31, 2024. These groups of 12th-grade students came to better understand FTMD ITB as a higher education option after graduation.

The students participated in campus and laboratory tours, including visits to the Collaborative Workspace, Aerospace Laboratory, and Industrial Technology Development Center (PPTI). These tours gave them firsthand insights into FTMD ITB student life, from learning spaces to research facilities.

Upon the tour’s conclusion, Ms. Indria Herman, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., delivered an informative presentation about the ITB campus and FTMD study programs. The presentation covered the history of ITB, curricula, academic activities, research endeavors, and career prospects for graduates. Ms. Indria also highlighted the privileges enjoyed by FTMD ITB students, such as the freedom to choose learning experiences through student exchange programs, internships, or the bachelor-master integration program (fast-track program) at the fourth level.

The visit concluded with a question-and-answer session, allowing visitors to acquire additional information. This visit program aims to offer a holistic overview of the learning experience at FTMD ITB, inspire prospective students, and assist them in making informed decisions about their educational futures.
