FTMD ITB Welcomes AVL Austria to Discuss Research Collaboration Opportunities
Bandung – The Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FMAE/FTMD) at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) received a visit from AVL Austria, AVL in SEA & Australia, and PT Giwang Kanaka on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Meeting Room B, FTMD ITB. The visit aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration in research and technological development, specifically in the field of sustainable energy.
The delegation from AVL in SEA & Australia, led by Jonny Tesiman and accompanied by four colleagues, was warmly received by FTMD ITB representatives, including Rianto Adhy Sasongko, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D.; Dr. Eng. Ir. Gea Fardias Mu’min, S.T., M.T.; Dr. Eng. Ir. Firman Bagja Juangsa, S.T., M.Eng.; and Dr. Eng. Bentang Arief Budiman, S.T., M.Eng.
During the meeting, both parties discussed potential cooperation in technological research, particularly regarding innovations in the energy and mobility sectors. FTMD ITB expressed a positive response to the collaborative opportunities offered, noting their strong alignment with the faculty’s current research strategic directions.
The discussion also highlighted the importance of strengthening cross-disciplinary collaboration and the involvement of various stakeholders to support more comprehensive research development. Additionally, preliminary steps were discussed to redefine cooperation schemes to ensure they remain relevant to current technological needs and advancements.
This visit serves as an initial step in strengthening the relationship between FTMD ITB, AVL Austria, and PT Giwang Kanaka, while opening doors for global and sustainable research collaborations.
Moving forward, this partnership is expected to drive the development of high-impact technological innovations and increase the contribution of both academia and industry in addressing global challenges within the energy and mobility sectors.
