We continuously give our best to thrive at international level and contribute the most to our nation.
The researches at the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FMAE) ITB are managed by seven (7) Research Groups (Kelompok Keahlian/ KK) which defined follows:
Mechanical Design
The Mechanical Design group conducts research and development in the field of mechanical components and equipment design, analysis of mechanical stresses and structural vibrations, engine material selection and vehicle technology.
The Energy Conversion group conducts research related to thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics as well as power generation engineering applications, cooling system engineering, and renewable energy aspects.
The Mechanical Production Engineering group conducts research and development of production systems, manufacturing technology, industrial metrology, as well as robotics and automation towards digital manufacturing.
The Lightweight Structures group conducts research in the field of method development, design, analysis and application of the structures with significant weight saving aspects compared to other general structures.
The Flight Physics group conducts research related to the physical phenomena and control of a flying vehicle through the aspects of aerodynamics, astrodynamics and control techniques both theoretically, experimentally, and computationally.
The Aircraft Design, Operation and Maintenance group conducts research aimed at increasing safety and efficiency as well as minimizing the social / environmental impacts of global air transportation.
The Materials Science and Engineering group studies all aspects related to the structure, properties/ characteristics of materials concerning various categories, i.e., metals, composites, polymers, ceramics, biomaterials.
