Course Highlight:

Riser is a pipe structure used to transport gas & petroleum from the seabed to processing facilities on the surface. The configuration of the structure that stretches without a supporting structure from the bottom to the sea level has an impact on various special design considerations that are not considered in gas & oil pipelines in general. Environmental forces in the sea that are not found on land also become a special challenge in designing and analyzing the Riser structure. Some of the topics that will be discussed in this course include:
– introduction to different types of risers and their components
– introduction to analysis methods and riser design
– implementation of calculation tools to design risers from real cases
