Bandung, August 29, 2024 — In a bid to support the national economic transformation through the Indonesia 4.0 Vision initiative, PT Surya Sarana Dinamika (SSD) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Institut Teknologi Bandung (FTMD ITB) on August 21, 2024. This collaboration focuses on the development of human resources in the fields of automation and robotics, which are fundamental in preparing Indonesia to compete in the Industry 4.0 era.

The Indonesia 4.0 Vision is a strategic initiative launched by the Indonesian government to accelerate the national industrial transformation through the adoption of advanced technologies such as automation, robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and big data. With the ambitious goal of placing Indonesia among the world’s top 10 economies by 2030, this initiative also aims to increase the manufacturing sector’s contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), create millions of new jobs, and boost the export of manufactured products.

In this context, PT Surya Sarana Dinamika, as an official partner of the Indonesia 4.0 Digital Industry Center (PIDI) under the Ministry of Industry, plays a crucial role in addressing the needs of industrial automation systems in Indonesia. The collaboration with FTMD ITB is expected to accelerate the development of skills in automation and robotics, which are essential to face the challenges of Industry 4.0.

This partnership offers various strategic benefits for all parties involved. FTMD ITB will gain access to advanced training facilities, certifications, and competency testing equipment relevant to the latest technological developments in automation and robotics. Meanwhile, students will have an expanded opportunity to learn and develop competencies in robotics. They can take advantage of the training and certification facilities provided and have the chance to intern at PT Surya Sarana Dinamika, gaining hands-on industry experience.

For PT Surya Sarana Dinamika, aside from contributing to the development of Indonesia’s human resources, this partnership also enables SSD to expand its collaboration network with leading educational institutions in Indonesia, strengthening the company’s position within the Industry 4.0 ecosystem.

Following the initial agreement, PT Surya Sarana Dinamika and FTMD will soon draft a more detailed collaboration plan that includes the implementation mechanism, utilization of ITB’s facilities, and internship plans for students at SSD. Further discussions between the two parties will be conducted to ensure the smooth implementation of this partnership.

The collaboration between PT Surya Sarana Dinamika and FTMD ITB is a significant strategic step in supporting the Indonesia 4.0 Vision. With synergy between industry and academia, it is expected that the quality of Indonesia’s human resources in automation and robotics will improve, making Indonesia better prepared to adapt and compete in the Industry 4.0 era. This partnership will not only directly benefit students and educational institutions but also support the growth of the national industry, guiding Indonesia towards a more innovative and competitive future on the global stage.
