FTMD ITB Team Wins 1st and 2nd Place at the 2024 Midea International HVAC Design Contest
Bandung – The Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD) once again demonstrated its prowess on the international stage. In the prestigious 4th Midea International HVAC Design Contest—Indonesia Chapter 2024, FTMD sent two teams that successfully secured the 1st and 2nd place titles.
FTMD ITB’s participation was not only an academic achievement but also a reflection of the faculty’s exceptional quality. Since 2023, FTMD teams have consistently brought home trophies from this competition. This year, the success shone even brighter with FTMD ITB taking both first and second positions at the national level, while also preparing to compete on the international stage.
At the 2024 HVAC Design Contest, the FTMD ITB team led by Faaris Ahmad Nashif, Achmad Mirzaq Nizar, and Aeric Razan Priyanto, clinched the 1st place title with full support from their mentor, Dr. Eng. Gea Fardias Mu’min, S.T., M.T. Meanwhile, the second team, consisting of Raihan Iqbal Bisono, Muhammad Rofi Nuruddin, and Yoota Naufal Achmad, mentored by Prof. Ir. Ari Darmawan Pasek, Ph.D., succeeded in securing the runner-up position.
The theme of this year’s 4th Midea International HVAC Design Contest – Indonesia Chapter was the design of an air conditioning system for a 17-story hotel building.
By combining technical innovation and sustainable solutions, they captured the attention of the judges, composed of international HVAC experts. This success further highlights FTMD’s dedication to training students not only in academic learning but also in developing technological innovations that are applicable in real-world industries.
