Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) has once again achieved an outstanding international milestone. A total of 14 ITB lecturers have been included in the 2024 World’s Top 2% Scientist list, as ranked by Stanford University and published by Elsevier. This number shows a significant increase compared to 2023, when only 9 lecturers were listed. Among the 14 is Pramudita Satria Palar, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., from the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD).

This achievement did not happen overnight. Since 2020, ITB has consistently fostered a culture of academic excellence with the primary goal of strengthening its scientific capacity and innovation. These efforts have paid off, as demonstrated by the growing international recognition of the academic work produced by ITB’s lecturers and researchers.

The World’s Top 2% Scientist ranking, published by Stanford University and Elsevier, is based on various scientific metrics, including publication impact, citation count, and the global influence of the academics’ research work.

As the oldest technical university in Indonesia, ITB has consistently demonstrated the quality of its research at both national and international levels. This achievement is a testament to the fact that, with the right support and a conducive academic environment, ITB’s lecturers and researchers can produce work recognized globally. ITB also hopes to become a role model for other universities in Indonesia to enhance the quality of their research and innovation.

The inclusion of more ITB lecturers in the World’s Top 2% Scientist list not only further solidifies ITB’s global recognition but also opens up new opportunities for growth, innovation, and positive impact on education both nationally and internationally.
