Evaluation of the Aerospace Engineering Double Degree Master’s Program FTMD ITB-ENAC, in Collaboration with Ministry of Transportation
The Aerospace Engineering Double Degree Master’s Program, a collaboration between the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD) ITB, École Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (ENAC), and the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub), recently held a monitoring and evaluation session to assess the academic progress of its participants. The event, conducted on November 1, 2024, aimed to ensure the achievement of academic objectives, maintain teaching quality, and discuss strategic measures to strengthen the program’s broader goals.
The evaluation session was attended by key figures essential to the program’s success, including Mr. Ibnu Romadhona, Head of the Planning Division at the Ministry of Transportation; Mr. Hilmi Wiko Faisal, a Technical Policy Analyst; and Mr. Ari Iqbal Alfian. The event was opened by Dr. Sandro Mihradi, Head of the FTMD ITB Graduate Program, and was attended by Dr. Taufiq Mulyanto, Dr. Riza Wirawan, M.T., and several other FTMD ITB lecturers.
During his presentation, Dr. Sandro Mihradi highlighted that the Aerospace Engineering Double Degree Master’s Program is now in its fourth batch. Batch 4 commenced in August 2024, while Batch 3 is currently studying at the partner university, ENAC, in France. Batch 2 is in the process of completing their studies, and Batch 1 successfully graduated in April 2024. Dr. Sandro emphasized the importance of this program in enhancing Indonesia’s human resources in the air transportation sector, with the primary goal of producing experts capable of competing on a global level.
This double degree program is designed to equip students with the competencies and capabilities required in the rapidly evolving international aviation industry. Collaboration with ENAC, one of the world’s leading aviation universities, aims to address the shortage of professionals proficient in the latest technologies in Indonesia’s air transportation sector. This is particularly relevant as Indonesia, a nation with a continuously growing aviation sector, requires human resources capable of integrating technological innovations to accelerate progress in this field.
Reflecting on the program’s success, Indonesia’s Minister of Transportation, as conveyed by Mr. Ibnu Romadhona, expressed satisfaction with the program’s progress. He also announced plans to further strengthen this partnership by introducing various alternative scholarship options. These efforts aim to broaden opportunities for aspiring Indonesian professionals to develop their potential and skills, with the hope of producing even more experts who can actively contribute to advancing Indonesia’s air transportation sector.
With the increasing variety of scholarship support, this program is expected to produce more competent and internationally certified professionals. Graduates of this program are anticipated to play significant roles in addressing global challenges while contributing to the progress and competitiveness of Indonesia’s aviation industry on the international stage.
