To celebrate 40 years of graduation, the 1983 ITB Mechanical Engineering Alumni initiated the ‘M83 Berbagi’ event. The ‘M83 Berbagi’ event is a series of post-campus seminars that share the experiences of alumni in the industrial field. This event will be held in the next few weeks and will have different themes, such as the manufacturing sector, the energy sector, the non-engineering sector, the education sector, and the technopreneur sector.

On August 25, 2023, M83 Berbagi successfully held its first seminar with the theme “Manufacturing Industry”. In this seminar, practitioners gave students material regarding employment, manufacturing industry opportunities, success tips, and motivation for students to achieve achievements and build their careers in the manufacturing industry sector.

The seminar speakers with the theme “Manufacturing Industry” were Mohamad Sadewo, Pratjojo Dewo, and Indar Atmoko, 1983 Mechanical Engineering ITB alumni. In addition to being a medium for sharing knowledge, this event is also used as a reunion event for 40 years of friendship established since college.

The first speaker was Mohamad Sadewo, Technical Director at PT Adyawinsa Stamping Industries. At the event, he gave material about “Sharing Manufacturing Knowledge.” In his material, he conveyed about the opportunities of the manufacturing industry in Indonesia.

He also motivated the students by saying that the manufacturing industry would grow significantly, especially in vehicle demand. This is a great opportunity, and I hope FMAE ITB students will build a career in the future.

“Now, almost everyone has a motorcycle. With good infrastructure, soon everyone will have a car. If the demand is there, there will be an industry,” said Mohamad Sadewo.

The second speaker was Ir. Pratjojo Dewo, M.Sc, Director of PT Komatsu Indonesia. He completed his bachelor’s degree at FMAE ITB and continued his Master’s in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Florida, USA. In his presentation, he explained Komatsu’s company profile. He also talked about developing the vehicle and heavy equipment industry in Indonesia.

In addition to delivering material about the manufacturing industry, Ir. Pratjojo Dewo, M.Sc., also provided motivation and enthusiasm to students who attended the M83 Berbagi Seminar. There are 4 Values for success for students delivered by Pratjojo Dewo, namely Ambition, Perseverance, Collaboration, and Authenticity.

The last speaker was Indar Atmoko, Senior Executive Vice President of PT Dirgantara Indonesia. He presented PT Dirgantara’s company profile and the great opportunities in the Indonesian aviation industry.

In addition to delivering materials about the manufacturing industry, M83 alums also inserted the philosophies of Study, Society, and Solidarity. The seminar held by M83 alums on August 25, 2023, is also a form of permanent implementation of solidarity.

The M83 Berbagi event is expected to provide benefits and enthusiasm for FMAE students. After obtaining information about the industrial world from practitioners directly, it is hoped that students can implement the knowledge gained in the future.
