FTMD ITB Showcases Leading Innovations at PRIMA ITB 2025, Wins PRIMA Award
Bandung — Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), through its Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD), reaffirmed its role as a driver of national research and innovation by actively participating in the 2025 Research, Innovation, and Community Service Exhibition (PRIMA ITB).
This annual event, held on December 15–16, 2025, at ITB Innovation Park Summarecon and the ITB Ganesha Campus, provided a platform for ITB academics to showcase various research findings poised to have a real impact on society.
At PRIMA ITB 2025, FTMD ITB showcased a variety of leading innovations resulting from lecturer research, including the ZEKE drone, the FTMD Knee Prosthetic, the Adjustable Scoliosis Brace, and various other engineering technologies. These innovations reflect FTMD’s commitment to developing technological solutions in healthcare, aerospace, and mechanical engineering that are applicable and user-oriented.
In addition to showcasing technological products, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FTMD) of ITB also exhibited several research and community service posters. These posters provided a comprehensive overview of the research and implementation activities undertaken, from concept development to direct field application to address current societal challenges, including:

- Development of Independent Orbit Determination System of Low Earth Orbit Satelite ADO LIT KK FTMD – Dr. Ridanto Eko Poetro, ST., M.Sc dan tim
- Thermodynamics and Techno-Economic Analysis of Biomass Waste Gasification for Co-Firing in Coal-Fired Power Plant – Ilman Nuran Zaini, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D.
- Pengembangan Algoritma Optimasi Topologi untuk Efisiensi Aliran Fluida Eksternal – Ir. Pramudita Satria Palar, S.T, M.T, Ph.D.
- Karakteristik Karet Alam Berpenguat Filler Hibrida Silika-Lignin untuk aplikasi Tekstil – Dr. rer. nat. Mardiyati, S.Si., M.T.,
On the same occasion, the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD) of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) also recorded a proud achievement through Dr. rer. nat. Mardiyati, S.Si., M.T., a lecturer at the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD) of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), won the PRIMA Award 2025 in the Superior Innovation with High Potential category, under the auspices of the Directorate of Science and Technology Areas (DKST). This award is given as a token of appreciation for contributions and potential innovations that advance science and technology.
This achievement further emphasizes the role of the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD) ITB as a center for the development of science and technology that is not only academically superior but also relevant and impactful for the wider community.
Through participation in PRIMA ITB 2025, FTMD ITB hopes to continue encouraging the birth of strategic innovations and to strengthen synergies among universities, industry, and other stakeholders.
