Bandung – Through its four faculties and schools, the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), in collaboration with PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (SMI) and the Ministry of Finance, officially initiated a partnership to enhance the impact of fiscal decentralization policies in Indonesia. The agreement signing ceremony was held at the SBM ITB Auditorium, Bandung, on Friday (11/1).

Four faculties and schools at ITB are involved in this collaboration. The School of Business and Management (SBM) will provide consultations on management, economic research, and fiscal policy. Meanwhile, the Faculty of Industrial Technology, the School of Architecture, Planning, and Policy Development (SAPPK), and the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD) will contribute their studies, innovations, and the application of appropriate technologies.

This pivotal event was attended by the Deans of the participating faculties and schools, alongside Reynaldi Hermansjah, President Director of PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (SMI). The Deans present included Prof. Dr. Ir. Ignatius Pulung Nurprasetio, M.SME, Dean of SBM ITB; Prof. Brian Yuliarto, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Technology (FTI) ITB; Prof. Dr. Sri Maryati, S.T., MIP, Dean of SAPPK ITB; and Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, MT, Dean of FTMD ITB.

In his remarks, the Director General of Fiscal Balance at the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Luky Alfirman, S.T., M.A, stated that this agreement is part of the effort to support the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045. As an educational institution, ITB will play a crucial role in providing insights for human resource development and building new economic centers to strengthen Indonesia’s economic growth.

“PT SMI will collaborate with ITB and the Ministry of Finance on fiscal decentralization,” said Faaris Pranawa, Director of Public Financing and Project Development at PT SMI, who also attended the event.

Dean of SBM ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ignatius Pulung Nurprasetio, M.SME, added that the signing of this agreement is a continuation of the international seminar on fiscal decentralization held on September 4, 2024, with the theme “Creative Financing for Regional Infrastructure Supporting SDGs 2030 Towards Golden Indonesia 2045.”

This collaboration will serve as a platform for academics, the private sector, and the government to discuss and explore ideas for developing creative financing in various regions.

The Ministry of Finance and ITB hope that this partnership will strengthen fiscal decentralization policies, increase the implementation of creative financing for regional infrastructure, and facilitate collaboration between local governments, academics, and financial institutions to accelerate regional infrastructure development.
