On Saturday, May 25, 2024, the CRCS Building at ITB Ganesha Campus witnessed a warm reunion among the parents of FTMD ITB 2023 students at an event titled “FTMD ITB 2023 Family Gathering: Synergizing & Harmonizing Towards Achieving Remarkable Success Together.” Initiated by the student’s parents, the event aimed to strengthen family bonds and provide an overview of the academic activities at FTMD ITB.

This event demonstrated the sincere support from parents for their children pursuing higher education at FTMD ITB. A representative of the parents delivered a heartfelt speech, reminding the FTMD 2023 students to be grateful for their opportunity to study at a prestigious university, an opportunity not everyone gets.

The representative also motivated the students to persevere in the coming academic year, emphasizing the crucial role of the First Year Program as a foundation for their future study programs. He highlighted healthy competition and collaboration among students as essential skills for their future careers.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, Dean of FTMD ITB, attended the event and provided insights into how FTMD ITB assigns students to study programs based on their priority interests. He also elaborated on the ITB 2024 Curriculum, which emphasizes guided independence, allowing students in their 7th and 8th semesters to choose specializations aligning with their passions, whether for industrial careers, advanced research, or the business world. This curriculum is designed to accommodate elective courses better and strengthen core courses that support common skills.

In his speech, he encouraged the FTMD 2023 students to start thinking about their future vision and what they want to achieve so they can prepare themselves for careers aligned with their interests.

To support the academic success of students, parents are strongly encouraged to actively monitor their children’s academic progress through the link academic.itb.ac.id. This collaborative effort is expected to help students face challenges in their studies and achieve remarkable success together.

The event continued with a presentation on the various international mobility programs offered by FTMD, such as student exchange, double degree, research internships, and others, in collaboration with more than 30 partner universities worldwide. Additionally, the Bachelor-Master Integration Program was introduced, which offers students the opportunity to obtain a master’s degree with only one additional year of study.
