Bandung – A warm atmosphere of togetherness filled the Mechanical Engineering Alumni Reunion for the Class of 2001 (M2001), held at the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD) ITB on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

This event was part of the “Pulang Kampus Akulturasyik 2026” (Homecoming) series, which brought together ITB alumni from various classes to reminisce about their academic journeys while strengthening relationships with their alma mater.

The event opened with remarks from the Chairman of the Mechanical Engineering Alumni Class of 2001, followed by addresses from the Dean of FTMD ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hermawan Judawisastra, M.Eng., a representative of retired faculty members, and the Chairman of the ITB Mechanical Engineering Student Association for the 2026–2027 period. The activities then proceeded with the presentation of the M2001 Alumni donation commitment to FTMD ITB, a group photo session, and a warm networking reception.

Also in attendance were Dr. Eng. Pandji Prawisudha, S.T., M.T.; Prof. Dr. Ir. Ignatius Pulung Nurprasetio, MSME; Prof. Ir. Tubagus Ahmad Fauzi Soelaiman, MSME, Ph.D.; Ir. Indrawanto, Ph.D.; Dr. Eng. Firman Bagja Juangsa, S.T., M.Eng.; as well as FTMD ITB faculty members who are also M2001 alumni, namely Ir. Satrio Wicaksono, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., and Indria Herman, S.T., M.T., Ph.D.

Beyond serving as a milestone to strengthen the bond between alumni and their alma mater, this reunion offered an occasion to reminisce about past academic journeys alongside retired professors who had mentored the alumni during their time at ITB Mechanical Engineering.

A warm and nostalgic atmosphere prevailed throughout the reception, as alumni shared stories, recalled their college days, and reinforced networks established over more than two decades. This moment served as a poignant reminder that the bond between alumni, faculty, and FTMD ITB remains strong, despite the years that have passed since graduation.

On that occasion, the Chairman of the M2001 Alumni, Ryan Aditya, expressed the group’s commitment to supporting FTMD ITB’s development through the planned procurement of a complete sound system set. This equipment will be installed in the coworking space on the first floor of Labtek II FTMD ITB, aiming to support various academic activities, student organization functions, discussions, and collaborative endeavors among the academic community

In addition to the facility donation, the M2001 Alumni demonstrated their commitment to student development by pledging a scholarship fund of IDR 100,000,000 to the ITB Mechanical Engineering Student Association. The pledge was presented symbolically by Ryan Aditya as the M2001 Alumni Chairman, reflecting the alumni’s dedication to educational sustainability and the development of the next generation of ITB Mechanical Engineering students.

This contribution not only reflects the alumni’s gratitude toward their campus but also embodies a tangible spirit of mutual cooperation in cultivating an enhanced academic environment. The support for learning facilities and educational aid is expected to yield direct benefits for FTMD ITB students in both their academic pursuits and personal development.

The M2001 Reunion serves as clear evidence that the relationship between alumni and FTMD ITB remains enduringly close, even more than two decades post-graduation. Through such initiatives, alumni do not merely reflect on their campus days but also actively contribute to the advancement of the faculty and the enhancement of educational quality.

As part of the “Pulang Kampus Akulturasyik 2026” series organized by Institut Teknologi Bandung, this reunion reinforces the spirit of collaboration and solidarity within the extended ITB community. The presence of alumni from various classes underscores that FTMD ITB is not just a place of learning, but a foundational space that fosters professional networks, lifelong friendships, and an enduring commitment to give back to the campus and society.
