FTMD ITB and Datagarda Explore Collaboration in Talent Development and Data Center Industry
Bandung – The Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD) at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) received a visit from PT Data Prima Global Servitama (Datagarda) on Tuesday (August 11, 2026) for an audience and exploration of potential collaboration. This meeting serves as a follow-up step to reopen communication and explore collaborative opportunities between both parties.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Eng. Gea Fardias Mu’min, S.T., M.T., and attended by Ir. Satrio Wicaksono, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., Dr. Eng. Firman Bagja Juangsa, S.T., M.Eng.; Dr. Eng. Gea Fardias Mu’min, S.T., M.T.; and Ilman Nuran Zaini, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D. Representing Datagarda were Dhany Dewantara as HCD Manager and Edwin Ginanjar as HC Consultant.
During the meeting, Datagarda introduced its line of business in data center infrastructure services, encompassing consulting, engineering, construction, operations, as well as certification and standardization. Discussions also touched upon collaboration opportunities in human resource development through practical work, internships, and recruitment of FTMD students and graduates.
The data center industry requires competencies highly relevant to Mechanical Engineering, particularly in HVAC, cooling systems, thermal management, energy efficiency, as well as facility operation and maintenance. To introduce this sector to students, FTMD and Datagarda plan to hold an information session at FTMD focusing on mechanical engineering aspects and career opportunities in the data center industry.
Beyond talent development, both parties explored cooperation opportunities in education and competency enhancement through micro credential programs and professional master’s degree education.
Additionally, Datagarda expressed interest in leveraging FTMD’s expert consultancy services to support requirements for analysis, technical studies, and engineering problem-solving aligned with industry needs.
This meeting is expected to be a first step toward developing a more structured partnership between FTMD ITB and Datagarda across education, talent development, and industrial engineering needs.
