Bandung – The Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD) at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) received a visit from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) on Wednesday (July 29, 2026) at the Coworking Space, Labtek II FTMD ITB. This visit served as an occasion to exchange academic information while exploring various collaboration opportunities between the two institutions.

The SJTU delegation was led by Li Qi as Director of the Student Affairs Office and Wensha Huang as Coordinator of International Affairs for the School of Materials Science and Engineering. Meanwhile, FTMD ITB was represented by Dr. Eng. Ir. Pandji Prawisudha, S.T., M.T. as Vice Dean for Academic Affairs; Dr. Eng. Ir. Gea Fardias Mu’min, S.T., M.T.; Ir. Ekavianty Prajatelistia, S.T., M.S.Eng., Ph.D.; Abdul Hakim Masyhur, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D.; and Dr. Eng. Achmad Rofi Irsyad, S.T., M.Eng.

During the meeting, SJTU presented various international education and academic cooperation opportunities available to the FTMD ITB academic community. A central topic was student exchange programs, which offer students the opportunity to gain international academic experience and engage with SJTU’s learning environment.

Beyond opportunities for students, the discussion covered postdoctoral program prospects at SJTU for faculty members and researchers, alongside scholarships and other academic development opportunities. Both parties also explored potential collaborations in research, faculty and researcher exchanges, as well as joint academic initiatives.

The visit continued with an overview of FTMD ITB’s academic environment and research facilities. Through this meeting, FTMD ITB and SJTU are expected to further broaden communication and foster collaborative efforts supporting international education, research, and human resource development.

Through this visit, FTMD ITB continues to bolster its international academic network while creating more opportunities for students, faculty, and researchers to gain valuable experience and develop their potential through partnerships with global higher education institutions.
