ITB’s Third Graduation: FTMD Graduates 136 Students with Various Academic Achievements
BANDUNG, ftmd.itb.ac.id – Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) held the Open Senate Session for the Third Graduation of Academic Year 2025/2026 on Thursday–Friday (August 27–28, 2026) at Sasana Budaya Ganesa (Sabuga), Bandung. During this period, ITB conferred degrees upon 2,874 graduates across undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs.
In his opening speech, ITB Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., stated that graduation marks the beginning for graduates to apply the knowledge acquired during their studies. He advised graduates to let their work express gratitude, master technological advancements without losing human values, dare to start small, serve as problem solvers, and continuously contribute to society.
The Open Senate Session also featured inspirational addresses from several prominent figures, including the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, Brian Yuliarto; Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung; and Commander of Joint Defense Command I (Pangkogabwilhan I), Lieutenant General TNI Kunto Arief Wibowo.
136 FTMD Graduates Across Various Study Programs
For the Third Graduation of Academic Year 2025/2026, the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD) ITB released 136 graduates spanning undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels.
The majority of FTMD graduates came from the undergraduate program, with 64 graduates in Mechanical Engineering, 30 in Aerospace Engineering, and 12 in Materials Engineering. At the master’s level, there were 20 graduates in Mechanical Engineering, 5 in Aerospace Engineering, and 2 in Materials Science and Engineering. At the doctoral level, FTMD graduated 1 student each in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering.
FTMD graduates achieved various academic honors, ranging from Satisfactory, Very Satisfactory, Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, to Summa Cum Laude. The detailed breakdown of graduates and distinction predicates for each study program is presented in the table below:

Three FTMD Graduates Earn Top Honors
A number of FTMD graduates also recorded top institute-level academic honors during ITB’s Third Graduation.
Juan Leonardo from the FTMD Mechanical Engineering Study Program was named the Best Graduate with the Highest GPA in the Undergraduate Program, achieving a perfect GPA of 4.00 with Summa Cum Laude honors.
At the master’s level, a similar milestone was achieved by Muhammad Gibran Fahrezzi from the FTMD Mechanical Engineering Study Program, who was recognized as the Best Graduate with the Highest GPA in the Master’s Program with a 3.96 GPA and Summa Cum Laude honors. During his studies, Gibran also authored an international journal paper.
Meanwhile, Kemas Zakaria from the FTMD Aerospace Engineering Doctoral Program became the Youngest Doctoral Graduate of this period, completing his doctoral degree at the age of 29 years and 11 months.
These achievements form part of the academic distinctions earned by FTMD graduates, reflecting the diversity of accomplishments across every level of education within the faculty and ITB.
Message from the Graduate Representative
At the conclusion of the event, the address representing the graduates was delivered by Firendy Anriki, a graduate of the FTMD ITB Aerospace Engineering Undergraduate Program. He expressed his gratitude to the faculty members and administrative staff for their knowledge, guidance, patience, and trust throughout his studies, with special appreciation for his advisors, Dr.Eng. Ir. Ferryanto, S.T, M.T., and Dr. -Ing. Ir. Javensius Sembiring, S.T, M.T.
Firendy also shared a reflection on his journey at ITB, from serving as an academic assistant to receiving the Pertamina Sobat Bumi Scholarship and the Bank Indonesia Scholarship. According to him, the journey at ITB imparted not only academic knowledge, but also values, mindsets, friendships, and cherished memories.
Closing his speech, he encouraged fellow graduates to remain courageous as they move forward into their next chapters. “Let the life goes on, stay calm, and keep going,” he shared, while inviting all graduates to extend their appreciation to their parents and families for the love, sacrifice, and support they have provided.
Stepping Beyond Campus to Make an Impact
The ITB Rector’s message during the Open Senate Session serves as a reminder to all graduates that post-graduation life offers an opportunity to implement the knowledge acquired on campus.
For FTMD graduates, an educational foundation in mechanical, aerospace, and materials engineering is expected to serve as a stepping stone to contribute toward technological advancement, industry, research, and various sectors requiring engineering expertise.
With the conclusion of their educational journey at ITB, 136 FTMD graduates of the Third Graduation of Academic Year 2025/2026 now transition into the next chapter, bringing the knowledge, experience, and values gained at ITB to society and the professional world.
