Bandung, Friday, June 5, 2026 – The Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD) at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) received a visit from Bundamedik Healthcare System (PT Bundamedik Tbk) to discuss the follow-up of their collaboration in health technology development, including the readiness to receive a grant of healthcare robotic devices as well as opportunities for joint research development that could potentially support the advancement of healthcare services in Indonesia.

The meeting was held at the Seminar Room, Labtek II FTMD ITB Ganesha, and was attended by the President Commissioner of Bundamedik Healthcare System, Dr. dr. Ivan Rizal Sini, GDRM., MMIS., MBA., FRANZCOG., SpOG.; Dr. Agus Heru Darjono as President Director; Jossie Tobing as Corporate Secretary; and the Head of Research at IRSI, Dr. Nining Handayani, MBiomed.

Representing ITB were Prof. Ir. Lavi Rizki Zuhal, Ph.D., Vice Rector for Research and Innovation (WRRI) of ITB; Prof. Dr. Ir. Hermawan Judawisastra, M.Eng., Dean of FTMD ITB; and Rianto Adhy Sasongko, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Resources of FTMD ITB. Also, present were FTMD ITB lecturers and researchers, including Prof. Ir. Andi Isra Mahyuddin, Ph.D., Ir. Indrawanto, M.Eng., Ph.D., Dr. Eng. Gea Fardias Mu’min, S.T., M.T., Ir. Vani Virdyawan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., Dr. Budi Heryadi, S.T., M.T., Dr. Eng. Ir. Ferryanto, S.T., M.T., and Nada Fauziyyah Nursadida, S.T., M.T.

The meeting was a continuation of previous discussions regarding collaboration opportunities in research- and innovation-based health technology development. One of the primary agendas discussed was FTMD ITB’s readiness to receive a grant of robotic-based health technology devices, which is expected to support research activities, technology development, and research capacity building within the campus environment.

In addition, both parties discussed opportunities to develop various health technology innovations created by ITB researchers. The discussion covered the potential for further research, strengthening collaboration between academics and healthcare practitioners, and opportunities for implementing research outcomes to provide broader benefits to society.

The collaboration between FTMD ITB and Bundamedik Healthcare System is expected to strengthen the synergy between academia, industry, and healthcare services. Through this partnership, various innovations emerging from the university environment will have a greater opportunity to be developed to the implementation stage and deliver a tangible impact on improving the quality of healthcare services in Indonesia.
