Bandung – The Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD) at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) welcomed a delegation from Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU), China, on June 24–25, 2026. This visit serves as a follow-up to the establishment of the Tianyou–Djuanda Excellent Engineers College, which was officially launched by ITB and SWJTU in May 2026.

Through this series of activities, both institutions continued discussions on the implementation of the Double Degree program, curriculum alignment, and program socialization for FTMD ITB students.

On the first day, Wednesday (24/6/2026), FTMD ITB held a Curriculum Meeting as a follow-up to the implementation of the Double Degree program to be run through the Tianyou–Djuanda Excellent Engineers College. This meeting focused on aligning the curriculum, learning structures, academic mechanisms, and course mapping to be implemented in the program, ensuring it meets the academic standards of both institutions.

The SWJTU delegation, consisting of Prof. Li Hai, Prof. Zhang Min, Mr. Chi Hai, and Ms. Liu Ying, was warmly received by Prof. Dr. Ir. Hermawan Judawisastra, M.Eng. as the Dean of FTMD ITB; Yunendar Aryo Handoko, S.T., Ph.D.; Dr. Riza Wirawan, S.T., M.T. as the Head of the Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Programs in Materials Engineering; Dr. Annisa Jusuf, S.T., M.T. as the Head of the Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Programs in Aerospace Engineering; Dr. Eng. Ir. Firman Bagja Juangsa, S.T., M.Eng.; Dr. Eng. Gea Fardias Mu’min, S.T., M.T.; and Abdul Hakim Masyhur, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D.

Joining virtually were Dr. Arie Wibowo, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D. as the Head of the Doctoral Programs in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, and Aerospace Engineering, and Ir. Satrio Wicaksono, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D. as the Head of the Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Programs in Mechanical Engineering.

Discussions centered on the alignment of the curriculum structure, learning schemes, and various academic aspects required to support the delivery of the Double Degree program. This deliberation is expected to ensure an equivalent quality of education while providing an international academic experience for students of both institutions.

The series of visits continued on the second day, Thursday (25/6/2026), with the SWJTU delegation hosting a Student Promotion Session and an Industry Promotion Session for FTMD ITB students. During these sessions, the SWJTU delegation introduced their university profile, academic advantages, campus facilities, and various international programs on offer, including the opportunity to join the Double Degree program between FTMD ITB and SWJTU.

The event proceeded interactively through information-sharing and Q&A sessions with the students. Participants gained insights into the learning system, study experiences at SWJTU, as well as various opportunities for international academic collaboration and self-development.

On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hermawan Judawisastra, M.Eng. as the Dean of FTMD; Dr. Eng. Ir. Pandji Prawisudha, S.T., M.T. as the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FTMD ITB; Dr. Eng. Gea Fardias Mu’min, S.T., M.T.; Yunendar Aryo Handoko, S.T., Ph.D.; and Abdul Hakim Masyhur, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D. also accompanied the activities and provided explanations to the students regarding the implementation of the FTMD ITB–SWJTU Double Degree program and the various opportunities available through this partnership.

Through this series of events, FTMD ITB and SWJTU have further reinforced their commitment to developing a high-quality Double Degree program and expanding their international collaboration network. This partnership is expected to unlock more opportunities for FTMD ITB students to gain global learning experiences while enhancing research synergy and human resource development in the field of engineering.
