The 63rd ITB Anniversary (Dies Natalis) event was held on March 4, 2022. In this event, ITB awarded lecturers who have made significant contributions to the university. The 63rd Anniversary event itself was held offline and online, where offline activities were held in the ITB’s West Hall, and was attended by the Rector, Faculty Deans, ITB lecturers, and also several community representatives. This hybrid format was held for the second time amidst the current COVID-19 pandemic situation.

The awards were given for various categories. ITB awarded the lecturers in the following four categories: Teaching, Research, Innovation, and institutional development. FMAE was honored with four lecturers who received awards in these fields: Prof. Dr. Ir. Ichsan Setya Putra in the field of Teaching, Pramudita Satria Palar Ph.D. in the field of Research, Dr. Eng. Pandji Prawisudha in the field of Innovation Works, and Prof. Dr. Ir. Yatya Yuwana Martawirya in the field of Institutional Development.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Ichsan Setya Putra received an award as Outstanding Lecturer in Teaching by taking into account his track record in developing teaching methods, planning face-to-face activities, as well as student learning experiences for several courses, especially when planning online lecture activities during the pandemic. It was reflected in the positive student feedbacks on his classes. The average grades on his classes were also excellent, consistent over the years for several semesters, especially for the basic engineering courses such as MS1210 Structural Statics and MS2110 Mechanics of Strength of Materials.

Pramudita Satria Palar, S.T, M.T, Ph.D. received an award as Outstanding Lecturer in Research by taking into account his track record and contribution in the field of optimization and machine learning. This can be seen from his Scopus profile with 48 papers and H-index of 9, achieved at a relatively young age. In 2021, together with Dr. Timothy Jim from Tohoku University, he was invited as Keynote Speaker at the international conference London to Sydney in 5 hours, the Future of Aviation Conference. With a wide international network, Dr. Pramudita in 2021 also managed to coordinate the International Virtual Course on Multidisciplinary Optimization and Machine Learning for Engineering Design Application which involved 12 foreign lecturers and 93 foreign students.

Dr. Eng. Pandji Prawisudha, ST., MT. received an award as Outstanding Lecturer in Innovation by taking into account this track record and contribution concerned in the development of engineering products related to recycling and waste management. Some of his works are the development of independent tools for processing municipal solid waste into solid fuel using the principle of medium-temperature hydrothermal, the development of a waste management system for waste oil palm empty fruit bunches into solid fuel instead of coal using the hydro-briquette principle, and apart from that, a start-up company has been established to process waste of baby diapers and sanitary napkins into paper, planting media. and building materials. His works show great concern for the environment according to the needs of the Indonesian people.

Lastly, Prof. Dr. Ir. Yatna Yuwana Martawirya received an award as Outstanding Lecturer in Institutional Development. Prof. Yatna has continuously, for almost 10 years, pioneered the establishment of the Tooling Machine Development Capabilities in The Industrial Technology Development Center (PPTI-MP), in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Korean partners. Currently, PPTI-MP has received grants worth approximately 80 billion IDR in the form of tooling machines, laboratory equipment and a cooperation program for the development of tooling machines. Tooling machines are known as the mother of all machines, so the ability to design and produce tooling machines is very strategic for technological independence in Indonesia.

Congratulations to the awardees. Hopefully this awards can provide additional motivation for the entire FMAE academic community for continuously making great contributions to ITB, Indonesia, and also the world.
