The company’s experience across various industrial projects opens opportunities to connect the competencies of faculty members and researchers with technology development needs and technical problem-solving in the field.
During the meeting, discussions focused on aligning FTMD ITB’s competencies with PT LAPI ITB’s project portfolio. Relevant fields include structural integrity, materials science and engineering, product design, mechanical dynamics and systems, aerospace technology, and thermal and energy systems. This scope serves as the foundation for identifying joint project opportunities and expertise-based services that can be co-developed.
One of the development directions discussed was the establishment of a new Strategic Business Unit (SBU) through collaboration among various ITB units. In this approach, FTMD ITB has the potential to contribute through the expertise of its research groups (Kelompok Keilmuan) in applied research, technical analysis, material development, and technology. Discussions also covered the One KK One Product (OKOP) strategy, which encourages each Research Group to develop specific flagship products or services with high potential for industrial application.

This approach also opens avenues for multidisciplinary solutions by engaging expertise from across various units within ITB.
This meeting marks an initial step to strengthen synergy between FTMD ITB and PT LAPI ITB in fostering market- and industry-oriented cooperation. Moving forward, this collaboration is expected to unlock new business opportunities, expand the practical utilization of research outcomes, and strengthen FTMD ITB’s contribution in delivering engineering and technology solutions for industry.
