FTMD ITB and Sakigake Japan Sign MoA for PCM Technology Development
BANDUNG, ftmd.itb.ac.id – The Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD) Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and Sakigake Japan Corp. continued discussions on cooperative development of Phase Change Material (PCM) technology during a meeting held on Wednesday (September 16, 2026) at the Thermal Laboratory, Inter-University Center (PAU) ITB.
During the meeting, FTMD ITB and Sakigake continued discussions regarding the development and application of PCM technology, specifically for more efficient and sustainable cooling systems. This collaboration had previously explored the potential utilization of PCM in preserving the quality of fisheries products during storage and distribution, as well as opportunities for its integration with renewable energy sources such as solar energy.
The meeting was attended by Munetoshi Kondoh, CEO of Sakigake Japan, alongside Dr. Eng. Ir. Yuli Setyo Indartono, S.T., M.T., from FTMD ITB. Both parties engaged in further discussions to reinforce cooperation plans while mapping out next steps for joint technology development and research activities.
As part of the cooperation’s follow-up, both parties signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA). On behalf of FTMD ITB, the MoA was signed by Dr. Eng. Ir. Yuli Setyo Indartono, S.T., M.T., serving as the person in charge (PIC) and representing the Dean of FTMD ITB, while Sakigake was represented by Munetoshi Kondoh.
The signing of this MoA marks an important step in strengthening the partnership between FTMD ITB and Sakigake Japan, while providing a foundation for collaborative activities in research and technology. This cooperation is expected to drive the development of practical solutions aligned with the needs of both the fisheries sector and renewable energy in Indonesia.
Through this collaboration, FTMD ITB continues to expand its international partnership network and foster technological innovations that deliver benefits to industry and society.
