PT INKA and FTMD ITB Discuss Opportunities for Cooperation in Railway Technology Development
Bandung – On Thursday, January 16, 2024, PT Industri Kereta Api (Persero) or PT INKA had an official visit to the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD) at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). This visit aimed to discuss strategic cooperation opportunities between the two parties in order to support the development of railway technology in Indonesia.
The PT INKA delegation was led by the Director of Development, Roppiq Lutfi Azhar, accompanied by the General Manager of Research and Development, Febry Pandu Wijaya; Principal Specialist of Rolling Stock Engineer, M. Evan Wiryawan; Senior Manager of Research and Development, Denna Maulana Achmad; and Manager of Transportation System Development, Fifin Nugroho.
The delegation was welcomed directly by the Dean of FTMD, Prof. Tatacipta Dirgantara, along with the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Prof. Lavi Zuhal. The FTMD academics who also attended the discussion included Prof. Ichsan Setya Putra (Head of the Lightweight Structure Expertise Group), Prof. Bagus Budiwantoro (Head of the Design and Manufacturing Expertise Group), Prof. Leonardo Gunawan (Head of the Dynamics and Control Expertise Group), Dr. Sandro Mihradi (Head of FTMD Graduate Program), Dr. Satrio Wicaksono (Head of RIEM2D Center), Dr. Yunendar Aryo Handoko (Railway and Transportation Research Division), and several other lecturers, namely Dr. Indrawanto, Dr. Rachman Setiawan, Dr. Sri Raharno, and Dr. Indria Herman.
The discussion proceeded constructively with topics regarding the strengthening of expert competencies in railway engineering, technological innovation, and the development of solutions to face increasingly complex industry challenges. This collaboration is expected to provide tangible contributions in accelerating the transformation of the national railway sector, creating an efficient, safe, and environmentally friendly transportation system, as well as strengthening PT INKA’s position as a center of excellence in Indonesia’s railway industry.
Both parties agreed to continue developing strategic synergy to support the advancement of railway technology, with a commitment to producing innovations that can meet the future needs of transportation in Indonesia.
