Bandung — Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) is once again opening opportunities for future innovators through the International Undergraduate Program (IUP). Registration for Batch 1 is still open until February 20, 2025, offering prospective students the chance to join an internationally recognized academic environment. For the IUP, the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD) offers three study programs:

  • Mechanical Engineering (International Class)
  • Aerospace Engineering (International Class)
  • Materials Engineering (International Track)

ITB’s International Undergraduate Program is designed to provide high-quality international academic experiences with a dynamic curriculum and the opportunity to participate in student exchange programs with ITB’s partner universities abroad. This program prepares students to compete globally by exposing them to a wide range of international academic activities.

This program is highly valuable for students from international curriculum-based high schools and Indonesian citizens living abroad. It is also open to students worldwide, fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment. Academic activities in the International Track are conducted in Indonesian and/or English, while the International Class is taught entirely in English.

For those who miss Batch 1, ITB also opens registration for:

  • Batch 2: March 24 – April 20, 2025
  • Batch 3: May 21 – June 21, 2025

Studying at ITB’s International Program is known for its supportive and inspiring environment. Edric Geoffrey Pasaribu, a Mechanical Engineering IUP student from the 2022 cohort, shares his academic journey.

“The class atmosphere in ITB’s international program is very supportive and motivating. The lecturers always encourage us to share ideas, perspectives, and answers, making every discussion richer. What impressed me the most was the close interaction between students and lecturers. With fewer students, we get more personal time with the lecturers, making the learning experience truly special.”

Edric, who was born and raised in Qatar, initially worried about language barriers but found ITB’s community to be very welcoming and inclusive. “ITB gives us the chance to collaborate in student organizations that are open to international students. It’s a great way to feel at home while building new connections,” he added.

He also emphasized ITB’s global reputation and strong industry connections as a major attraction for international students. “ITB’s engineering programs are globally recognized, and the university’s partnerships with companies and institutions offer many internship and research opportunities. Personally, I was drawn to ITB because of its focus on mechanical engineering practices, which perfectly aligns with my career goals.”

Meanwhile, Afiqah Ramadhani, an Aerospace Engineering IUP student from the 2023 cohort, chose ITB after living in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. “One of the benefits I truly appreciate is the freedom to choose my major. From the start, I already knew what I wanted to pursue, and ITB gave me that opportunity,” Afiqah said.
