Bandung – At the first graduation ceremony of the 2024/2025 academic year, 21 students from the Professional Master’s  Program Collaboration between PT Kereta Api Indonesia (PT KAI) and FTMD ITB successfully graduated.

This program, part of the first batch of the FTMD ITB and PT KAI partnership, commenced in the 2020-2021 academic year. Following a rigorous selection process, PT KAI Persero sent its top human resources to pursue master’s degrees at FTMD ITB.

The program was specifically designed to enhance the quality and skills of PT KAI personnel through postgraduate education that addressed industry needs. With a curriculum crafted to address challenges in the railway industry, this initiative reflects FTMD ITB’s commitment to supporting national industrial development by strengthening human resources with strategic competencies.

Yasser Yusran, one of the program graduates, shared his profound experience during his studies at FTMD. “Pursuing a master’s degree broadened my knowledge in engineering and enhanced my understanding of how technological innovation drives industrial progress in Indonesia,” said Yasser. He believes mastery of STEM fields is crucial for accelerating Indonesia’s progress, particularly in the transportation sector.

Yasser also highlighted the vital role of family support as a conducive “support system,” especially for many students in this program who are husbands or fathers living far from their families. “Support from loved ones was essential to my success in completing this program,” he added. Besides family, the supportive and positive academic environment at FTMD significantly contributed to the students’ achievements.
