FTMD ITB Showcases Unmanned System Innovations at TNI AD Fair 2026
BANDUNG, ftmd.itb.ac.id – The Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD) Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) accepted a collaboration and exhibition invitation from Brigadier General TNI Fifin Firmansyah, S.E., M.M., Head of the Indonesian Army Airworthiness Service (Dislaikad TNI AD), for the TNI AD Fair 2026 held on September 19–20, 2026, in the East Sector of the National Monument (Monas) Square, Jakarta.
This event provided FTMD ITB with an opportunity to introduce various developments in unmanned system technology while opening avenues for collaboration with the Indonesian Army (TNI AD).
The TNI AD Fair 2026 formed part of the series celebrating the 81st Anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), displaying defense equipment (alutsista), soldier gear, innovations, and flagship products of the Indonesian Army. The exhibition also served as a platform for the public to gain closer insight into the technology and diverse capabilities possessed by TNI AD.
In this event, FTMD ITB participated through the FCS Raptor team, in collaboration with the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering (FTSL), specifically the Structural Engineering Research Group. The FCS Raptor team present comprised Dr. Ir. Yazdi Ibrahim Jenie, S.T., M.T., Zeke Denver Wouterz De Zilva, S.T., Mario Lukman, S.T., M. Zahid Farrell F., and Altamis Ahmad Tristan.
Innovations showcased included the Zeke03 Inspection Drone, Zeke04 LiDAR Inspection Drone, Jeff-ctrl Wearable Control Device, alongside several other unmanned system innovations. The presentation of these technologies formed part of efforts to introduce FTMD ITB’s research and development outcomes to the public while expanding opportunities for their application across various needs.
In addition to being displayed, Jeff-ctrl was demonstrated live to visitors. The device allows users to control drones via hand gestures, offering an interactive experience in discovering the unmanned system technology developed by FTMD ITB.
Meanwhile, the Zeke03 Inspection Drone was directly tested in front of the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army (Kasad), General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak, M.Sc., who inspected various booths at the TNI AD Fair 2026.
FTMD ITB’s participation in the TNI AD Fair 2026 forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen relations between higher education institutions and defense agencies through technology development and utilization. Through this opportunity, FTMD ITB hopes that collaboration with the Indonesian Army, particularly Dislaikad, will continue to grow and pave the way for closer partnership in the development, testing, and application of unmanned system technologies and other engineering innovations.
