Bandung – The Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD) at ITB once again held its annual Student Product and Poster Exhibition at the ITB West Hall on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. This event has been a tradition since 2011, reflecting FTMD’s dedication to facilitating student creativity and innovation.

Open to the public, the exhibition successfully attracted the attention of the ITB academic community, the general public, and students’ families. As a tangible implementation of academic knowledge, the event showcased the final projects from the Engineering Product Design (MS3203) and Engineering Product Prototyping (MS4100) courses, which are undertaken for a full year by undergraduate students of the Mechanical Engineering program.

Over time, the exhibition has expanded to involve other study programs. Since 2014, students from the Industrial Engineering Management program at FTI have participated in the MS3203 course. This year, collaboration between Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering has resulted in various innovative medical devices, enriching the array of works on display. A total of 52 student groups presented their innovations, ranging from agricultural technology to healthcare equipment. Additionally, this year’s exhibition expanded its scope by including projects from the Aviation System Planning (AE4041) and Aircraft Design (AE4040) courses.

To ensure objective assessments, FTMD invited judges from various disciplines, including faculty members from FTMD, FSRD (Faculty of Art and Design), and SBM (School of Business and Management) ITB. In addition to being a platform for appreciation, the exhibition also awarded prizes for the best booths, including the FTMD Dean’s Choice Award, as well as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

One of the standout innovations was the ITB Truck Waste Bin Lifting Tool, which won 1st place in Mechanical Engineering. This tool was designed to assist ITB’s waste management team in transferring sorted waste for further processing. For the complete list of winners, visit the following link: View Winners.
