Bandung, Wednesday, April 22, 2026 – The Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD) at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) hosted a visit from Turkish Aerospace to discuss potential collaboration on student internship programs, specifically within the field of aerospace engineering
The Turkish Aerospace delegation included Mert Yasin Aras, the ANKA Offset Program Senior Leader Engineer from the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Systems Vice Presidency, and Sait Gürbüz, the Assembly Line Chief Engineer from the same division.
The visit was warmly received by FTMD ITB faculty representatives, including Rianto Adhy Sasongko, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., Ditho Ardiansyah Pulungan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., Dr. Annisa Jusuf, S.T., M.T., and Dr. Eng. Gea Fardias Mu’min, S.T., M.T.
The event commenced with a joint discussion session between FTMD ITB faculty and the Turkish Aerospace delegation regarding the implementation of an internship program. Both parties explored collaborative opportunities deemed highly relevant for students, particularly those from the Aerospace Engineering study program.
Following the discussion, the Turkish Aerospace delegation held a presentation for students in the FTMD Seminar Room. During this session, students received firsthand insights into internship opportunities, the professional working environment, and the experience of working within the international aerospace industry.
The proposed internship program is recognized for its significant potential in supporting the development of student competencies, especially by providing direct exposure to the global aerospace sector. FTMD ITB welcomed the initiative and expressed a keen interest in following up on the program.
Nevertheless, the implementation of the program requires further deliberation, particularly concerning the duration of the internship and the number of participating students. Both parties agreed to continue discussions to establish an optimal collaborative framework.
This visit marks a foundational step in strengthening the relationship between FTMD ITB and Turkish Aerospace, opening doors for students to gain practical learning experiences in the international aerospace industry. It is hoped that this collaboration will serve as a bridge for FTMD ITB students to enhance their competencies, broaden their global perspectives, and prepare themselves for the challenges of the professional world.
